This blog is mostly about images. A photo captures a moment in time and lets us slow down long enough to see the rich texture of the life all around us. It's mostly for my own amusement, but if you stumbled here somehow, please enjoy.

Span of Heaven

"Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?" (Isaiah 40:12)

It's a good question.  I remember one of the first times flying in an airliner as a kid, seeing the "span" of the heavens stretching along the horizon, and pondering the vastness of creation. Who but God has measured out the span of heaven?

  1. A gorgeous shot of a part of the "span of Heaven" from a great vantage point. We witnessed one of the more spectacular sunsets I can recall a couple of evenings back: from a parking lot about 1200 miles southwest of your vantage point. It seemed like nearly the entire sky was ablaze, but alas--no camera in hand. (You would have been prepared.) This all reminds me of Psalm 113:3 "From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised."
