This blog is mostly about images. A photo captures a moment in time and lets us slow down long enough to see the rich texture of the life all around us. It's mostly for my own amusement, but if you stumbled here somehow, please enjoy.

Dayspring

"Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us." -- Luke 1:78

Dayspring isn't a term we use anymore but I understand it to mean the rising sun. How appropriate that old Zechariah would prophesy that his son, John the Baptist, would prepare the way for this "dayspring from on high", Jesus Christ.

There something in a beautiful sunrise that gladdens the soul with the promise of a fresh and unspoiled day.  It's even more beautiful to link this explosion of color with God's tender mercy towards us.
