This blog is mostly about images. A photo captures a moment in time and lets us slow down long enough to see the rich texture of the life all around us. It's mostly for my own amusement, but if you stumbled here somehow, please enjoy.

Justice and Mercy

Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
(Job. 8:3)

But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. (Psalm 86:15)

One can stand outside the Supreme Court building in Washington and ponder the difference between man's and God's judgment.  One flawed, one absolutely just.  And the Just One is "plenteous in mercy".  How blessed we truly are.

  1. How true! I recently came across this profound summary of how mercy tempers judgment: "...and mercy rejoices against judgment." (James 2:13) These are beautiful shots of DC, a place which always gives one pause.
