"Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?" (Isaiah 40:12)
It's a good question. I remember one of the first times flying in an airliner as a kid, seeing the "span" of the heavens stretching along the horizon, and pondering the vastness of creation. Who but God has measured out the span of heaven?

A gorgeous shot of a part of the "span of Heaven" from a great vantage point. We witnessed one of the more spectacular sunsets I can recall a couple of evenings back: from a parking lot about 1200 miles southwest of your vantage point. It seemed like nearly the entire sky was ablaze, but alas--no camera in hand. (You would have been prepared.) This all reminds me of Psalm 113:3 "From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised."
